With partial funding from the New England Foundation for the Arts, The Colonial was delighted to present a master class and lecture demonstration with the exuberant young dancers of the New York based Ailey II.

In our first four photographs, 30 dancers from the Monadnock Region participated in the master class led by three Ailey dancers.

315 students (photo at left) grades 5th-11th attended a lecture demonstration with Ailey II. 100 Keene Middle Schoolers in attendance were exploring themes of tolerance and diversity in school. Their exposure to Ailey’s company as a celebration of the Afro-American experience was a perfect extension.
